running progress: day two

guess what guess what guess what!! i ran again today.  after running on monday, i was too sore to run on wednesday and N had a bunch of stuff to do anyway so we took wednesday off (oh, i should mention that we only really run every other day so i don’t die of exhaustion, or pain).  oh and N just told me that that’s how you train for a marathon…when you’re out of shape….thanks….

so today, we decided to go for the gusto and run a whole two miles.  which, if you think about it, is a 100% increase in mileage.  so as we were running and stopped for a cross light, an old man asked us for assistance to cross the street.  yea, it still happens.  so i took his hand and helped cross the street.  sadly, my wilderness explorer self was a little upset that i didn’t get a “helping old people” badge.  but i guess it’s ok.  good karma, right?

i’ve already set my eyes on a pair of new running shoes:

it’s not for certain because i was really in love with one similar to this that was purple but i can’t find it anywhere on the website anymore.  but this is a close second.  N says this color is the girliest, but i’m partial to the black as well.  i’ll keep looking.  i have three weeks.

three more weeks, hopefully i’ll have hit the 5 mile milestone and be working on my way to the 10 mile one.

on another note, N saw an ad on nike.com while i was looking at shoes and told me that doing a backbend with one leg up was easy.  here’s him trying. and here’s the photo he was basing it off of:

i’ll let you guess which is which

grand total: 3 miles!
