and so my running expedition begins

let me preface this by saying that i am TERRIBLE at running.  how terrible?  so terrible that if i run to class because i’m late, i probably won’t make it.  so by N’s persuasion, i’m training for a half marathon.  i won’t tell you which one because i don’t want you following me there when i can’t make it, but once i can run a bit more, maybe i’ll let slip which half marathon i’m running.  so today was my first day of running.  i ran a total of *drumroll* ONE MILE.  i know that sounds terribly insignificant and you runners and athletes out there are probably laughing at me and saying wow, one mile? what’d you do, take a 6 minute run?  well, no, i ran to ashby and back from college and dwight and it was probably the fastest mile i’ve ever run, only because i simply despise running.  i think it’s because it’s just so repetitive in nature.  but hopefully i’ll take some scenic runs now.  so i have about 6 months to train for this marathon.  one mile today, maybe 1.5 mile by wednesday.  and to help myself, i’ve set up some goals.

if i’m still running by this time next month, i’m treating myself to a new pair of running shoes.

if i’m still running by this time in two months, i’m treating myself to a lululemon something.

if i’m still running by this time in three months, i’m treating myself to some new shorts….*subject to change*

see? i’m trying.  i haven’t planned past that yet but i’m sure i’ll think of more things i want by that time.

i’m not making a new blog to document my running.  i’m not hard core enough for that.  i might try and do some other working out things and i’ll keep you updated.  as for now, here’s the grand total:
